The experience-sharing seminar “A journey of thousand miles begins with a single step” Confucius

On December 10, 2015, Silk Road Research Center of International Ataturk Alatoo University organized an experience-sharing seminar “A journey of thousand miles begins with a single step” Confucius.Guest speakers of the seminar were: Begai Duishenalieva - senior student of Finance and Banking department,grantee of Erasmus + Credit Mobility Programme scholarship to the University of Lodz, Poland, assistant at UNDP.Seitek Moldokasymov - senior student of International Relations department, freelancer – guide translator, participant of Silk Way, Tien – Shan Model of United Nations.Jalil Mukambetov - senior student of International Relations department, freelancer – guide- translator, participant of Silk Way, Tien- Shan Model of
United Nations. Guest speakers shared their experience in learning foreign languages,volunteering, getting experience and financial independence by indicating them as the first important steps they have taken to reach their short and long – term goals. All three speakers emphasized that knowledge of foreignlanguages English particularly served as a foundation of their success. They have also focused audience attention on the significance of intrapersonal skills like persistence, dedication, enthusiasm and others in achieving any goal. After thought – provoking speeches of speakers seminar guests have actively participated at the Q&A session asking and answering questions. Most of them were related to time management how they manage to combine study, work, and what speakers find difficult to deal with. According to the quantity of questions and quality of answers seminar reached its aim to motivate and help students to identify first steps to enhance knowledge of foreign language, reach financial independence and gain experience.
